Did you know?

……. the City has 23 Capital Improvement Projects in 2008-2009 totaling more than $19.5 million. Some of the projects included are: installing medians and landscapes on several roadways to add safety and beauty to our City, installing curb and sidewalk to build safe pedestrian corridors, installing a traffic signal at O’Hara and Cypress to improve traffic flow and safety, realigning Main Street to create a pedestrian friendly downtown area.

……. the City’s Redevelopment Agency has recently sold over $20million in bonds to focus on improvements to infrastructure in the downtown and other commercial areas of the RDA.

……. Oakley has designated over 1,200 acres of Open Space. We know of no other community our size IN THE COUNTRY that has designated such a large area. This area is located north of the canal between Marsh Creek and Jersey Island Road.

……. that on a typical home (assessed at $400,000), the City of Oakley only receives about $20 per month in property tax?  That amount is used to provide critical services like police, parks, roads, recreation, and general government services.
