Snow on Mt Diablo

There was quite a bit of snow on Mt Diablo early this morning. By the time it cleared up to allow for a decent shot much of the snow was gone, especially from the hilltops surrounding the mountain. Snow levels dropped to around 2000 feet last night and early this morning. At 3849 feet the mountain dominates the skyline to our west. From its top, on a clear day, you can see much of northern California, from the Faralon Islands in the west to the Sierras in the east to Mount Lassen in the north and Half Dome, with a telescope. The view is best in the winter following a storm.
