Oakley’s Newest Police Recruit

Oleg, a beautiful Belgian Malinois, was recently selected to join the Oakley Police force. The initial cost for the dog and the additional costs for modifications to the vehicle, initial training and equipment, dog run at officer’s home, vest, etc. were covered in true Oakley fashion – with donations from generous contributors to the K-9 Fund, including the City of Oakley, Friends of Oakley, Oakley Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and other private donors.

Chief Kollo has selected Officer David Riddle to be Oakley’s 2nd Canine Officer. With Oleg and our current K-9 Shadow, Oakley will have a K-9 on duty seven days a week, assisting the two- legged officers in their policing efforts.
