The summer Spare the Air season starts today, Wednesday, May 1.
During the summer months, the Bay Area Air District will issue Spare the Air Alerts on any day when concentrations of ground-level ozone, or smog, are forecast to reach unhealthy levels.
The single most important thing we can do to Spare the Air is to reduce our driving.
Discover a better way to work! Look for ways to share, shorten or change your commute so you spend less time alone in your car and more time doing what you want to do. Be ‘in the know’ by carpooling with co-workers. Or take transit where you can finally finish that novel or clean out your inbox before work. By riding your bike to work, your commute can be your new gym.
Visit sparetheair.org for more information about air pollution and commute alternatives in the Bay Area. Connect with Spare the Air this summer on Facebook, Twitter or Google+!
