The City of Oakley has Secured Grant Funding for 2 Traffic Issues

DOWNTOWN TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYNCHRONIZATION PROJECT

The City of Oakley has secured grant funding to perform a traffic signal timing synchronization project. This project will include Main Street intersections at O’Hara Avenue, Vintage Parkway, Empire Avenue as well as the intersection of Oakley Road at Empire Avenue. The project will evaluate the existing design of showimage the traffic signal timing at these intersections and make any adjustments needed to optimize the traffic flows, providing direct connections so the traffic signal will be synchronized and operate at full capacity and efficiency. This project will start in September and is anticipated to be completed and fully implemented by spring 2016.

ORCHARD PARK SCHOOL TRAFFIC

The City of Oakley has secured grant funding to analyze the traffic flow operations at Orchard Park School on Live Oak Road. This project will evaluate the traffic flows at this school during the morning and afternoon peak periods and recommend solutions to address the chronic roadway congestion. Staff has been working with representatives from the Antioch School District and Oakley Police Department, along with consultants on this task. The final report will be ready by September.
