Contra Costa Transportation Authority Launches Public Outreach Effort


The Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) is launching a major effort to solicit input into what transportation projects and programs the county should prioritize.

The feedback collected will inform a Transportation Expenditure Plan (TEP) under development by the agency that will guide investments in capital projects like repaving local roads, creating safer bicycle and pedestrian access, smoothing traffic on highways, and investing in transit infrastructure, as well as programs like enhancing bus service, creating better access to schools, and improving paratransit.

“This is an opportunity to hear from residents about how we can make transportation work better for everyone, no matter how they get around,” stated CCTA Board Chair Julie Pierce. “The public input we collect will ensure that we’re delivering the improvements residents are depending on.”

Contra Costa County residents have multiple channels for providing feedback:

  1. Share priorities online at KeepContraCostaMoving.net.
  2. Call 925.256.4745 or email info@ccta.net to have a printed survey mailed or emailed to you.
  3. Join CCTA and regional transportation planning committees for a live telephone town hall. Residents can call in to join the discussion and learn more about the transportation improvements being proposed.

To participate in a telephone town hall, residents should dial 1.877.229.8493, then enter the access code 112664 when prompted.

Telephone Town Hall Schedule:

  • Central County: Monday, October 26, 6pm-7pm
  • South County: Tuesday, October 27, 6pm-7pm
  • East County: Monday, November 2, 6pm-7pm
  • West County: Thursday, November 12, 6pm-7pm

Residents can also attend a public meeting of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority Board at 2999 Oak Road in Walnut Creek and share their comments. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 6pm.
