Tuesday, January 11 – High Wind Warning in the San Francisco Bay Area

Alert area: East Bay Hills and the Diablo Range; North Bay Mountains; Santa Cruz Mountains; Santa Lucia Mountains and Los Padres National Forest

A Pacific storm system will move through the region today bringing strong and gusty southerly winds during the afternoon and evening. Given already saturated soils, the threat for downed trees and power lines will exist.

High Wind Warning remains in effect until midnight PST tonight.

  • Timing: Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
  • Winds: southerly winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts over 65 mph for higher elevation locations.
  • Impacts: potential for downed trees and power lines plus difficult driving conditions.
