One Response to Meals on Wheels – More than a meal!

  1. Hal Bray says:

I love Meal on Wheels and provided the service to my mother for several years before she died. However, it should not be funded by the Federal government. It should be funded by people from the local communities it serves. The Catholic Church has a doctrine-Subsidiarity-that says that all matters, including charity, should be handled by the smallest, lowest, least centralized authority and that charity should be “local and personal”; that an organization (Government) should not forceably take money/resources (taxes) from one group to give to another group (of course, the some in the church do not always follow its own teachings). Money/resources transferred by means of taxation is not charity and is less meaningful for all parties involved.
