The project to repair and resurface Laurel Road in the section from Empire Avenue to O’Hara Avenue will begin on Monday, September 27th. Electronic message boards and construction signs have been placed on Laurel Road in anticipation of the start of construction.
This scope of this project includes replacement of damaged concrete curb, gutter, and ADA ramps, removing failed roadway base and surfacing, placement of new asphalt, new striping and separated bicycle lanes (these are the first in the City of Oakley).
During the course of the construction there will be temporary construction signs, and striping will be placed to transition the traffic to the various lanes on the roadway. The repair and resurfacing at the streets intersecting Laurel Road will be performed at night to minimize traffic disruption during the day. It is anticipated that the construction of this project will be completed by Friday, December 31st.
